01. Our Products

Who makes these products?

All products are handmade in small batches by Dee in her studio on the Āwhitu Peninsula, about an hour south of Auckland. I also import a small selection of complimentary products like the muslin face cloths and bamboo soap racks.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes all of our glass and aluminium is recyclable. Clean out containers and put into your recycling bin, without the lids screwed on. I’m hoping to add refill options in the future.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Balms/oils etc have a shelf life of 8-24 months. Oils can go rancid over time – you will know! Soap has a long shelf life but I recommend using them earlier rather than later to enjoy those beautiful essential oils which will evaporate over time. Honey never expires! I recommend storing our products out of direct sunlight and in a cool, dark place.

Are your ingredients natural and organic?

Yes, our products are made from natural ingredients and we primarily use organic where possible. Due to the nature of how our products are made it’s important to note that not all ingredients can be certified organic as they are wildly harvested. 

Are Rimu Gully products safe to use on sensitive skin? 

Yes, all our products have been formulated using natural ingredients with sensitive skin types in mind. If you have extra sensitive skin, we recommend patch testing on a small area on the back of the hand first. 

Are Rimu Gully products safe to use on children? 

Yes, most of our formulations are gentle enough to use on children. Information regarding this is on ingredient labels where applicable. Some products like the Muscle Balm are not suitable for young children.

Are Rimu Gully products tested on animals? 

No, Rimu Gully products have never been tested on animals. Nor will they ever be.

Do you have a shop?

Yes we do! Botanica on Bowen is our retail store stocking the full range of Rimu Gully products, including products I don’t have on the website. We also stock an extensive range of giftware and houseplants. We are located at 18 Bowen Street, Waiuku. Open Monday-Friday 9am-4pm, Saturday 9am-2pm. Definitely worth the trip to Waiuku!

Do Rimu Gully products contain synthetic fragrances?

All products that come in contact with your body only have ingredients that are derived from natural sources including the ingredients we use to scent our products. Our fragranced candles and diffusers contain a blend of essential oils and synthetic frangraces. Any synthetic fragrance used is phthalate free.

What type of payments do you take?

We accept the following payment types – Credit/Debit Card, Bank Transfer, Afterpay.

How quickly can you ship my order?

Orders are generally shipped the following business day. We don’t ship weekends or public holidays. Shipping generally takes 2-5 working days. This can be longer for rural areas.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer Free Tracked Courier Shipping on all orders over $100.
Tracked Courier Shipping $8.00
Rural Tracked Courier Shipping $12.50
All prices are in NZD.

I haven’t received tracking details for my order, where can I find this?

Once your order has been booked on the courier we will send you an email with your tracking details.
Sometimes these emails end up in your spam folder. Please check here first.
If you cannot find your tracking number, please do not hesitate to contact us.

How do you package orders?

Our orders are all packaged using 100% recyclable materials.
We use r3pack compostable courier bags and cardboard boxes.
All products are wrapped in shredded cardboard – instead of bubble wrap.
Recyclable kraft wrapping paper and we use recyclable paper tape.
Gift boxes are packed with recycled shredded paper. We may occasionally recycle boxes from our suppliers.

03. Returns & Exchanges

I bought the wrong product, can I return it?

If you have purchased the wrong product and would like to exchange it.
Please contact us and we can help you.
To be eligible for a return/refund the item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.

Am I able to get a refund for my products? 

We strive to make sure our customers are always satisfied with our products. If you are not happy with your purchase you may return an unused product within 14 days for a full refund, less shipping costs. To return a product, contact our team by emailing info@rimugully.co.nz. If the products you received are damaged or missing you can also contact us and our team will happily help you.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes, I offer a discounted wholesale price on most items.

Can I rebrand your products?

You can in no way change our branding or repackage our products to sell unless otherwise cleared with us.

When will I receive the invoice for my order?
When you have paid for the order, you will not automatically receive an invoice for your order. If you wish to receive an invoice, this can be done in two ways.The first way is through your account at our store. When you log in to your account you can see your orders and download the invoice.
